HTC One X Android 4.3 Update Prediction Isn’t Good
The HTC One X Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update has only just begun rolling out but already, there are predictions being made about its future and unfortunately for owners, one insider believes that the HTC One X Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update will never roll out.
Earlier this month, the HTC One X finally received its promised update to Sense 5 complete with HTC BlinkFeed and the new look. With that update, the aging flagship also received Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, an update that took the device up from Android 4.1 to a newer Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The update rolled out for owners in some parts of Europe but hasn’t hit every owner around the world just yet. AT&T HTC One X owners figure to be the last in line to the update, just as they were for Android 4.1.
HTC isn’t talking about anything past Android 4.2 and Sense 5 for the HTC One X but there are already predictions being made as to where the device will go once the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update is rolled out to everyone.
Noted HTC leakster and ROM developer LLabTooFeR, who has a great track record when it comes to predicting HTC software updates, claims that the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Sense 5 update will be the last update to roll out for the HTC One X and the HTC One X+. He doesn’t explain his reasoning and also says that he doesn’t have any information regarding the HTC One X Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, just that he thinks these two devices will stay on Android 4.2.
@youcef_coppolla I don’t have any information related to that. But in my view 4.2.2 is last update for these devices…

This is a prediction that HTC One X owners should certainly read into as he typically has inside information about HTC’s plans, plans that he doesn’t always share with the public. HTC also, in the past, has killed support after 18 months for some of its phones so its possible that we could see the HTC One X fall victim to that.
It also takes company resources to test and apply updates and with HTC still thought to be in financial turmoil, it’s possible that the company could choose to focus its efforts elsewhere.
Nothing is set in stone until HTC sets it in stone but at this point, HTC One X owners thinking about Android 4.3 need to start tempering their expectations as there is definitely a possibility that this device will stay on Android 4.2.2.
