Walmart won’t be the only third-party retailer taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C tomorrow as Gotta Be Mobile has learned that RadioShack will also be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C starting tomorrow as well.
Yesterday, we learned that RadioShack started to take names ahead of the iPhone 5S release date. The employee, at a Radio Shack store in Ohio, said they weren’t officially taking iPhone 5s pre-orders but that he was able to add our name to an “Opportunity list” which would help buyers get started. The employee stated that the store plans to call customers on this list on September 13th or 14th to inform them about release date details.
While RadioShack may not be taking traditional pre-orders for the iPhone 5S, we have learned that it will be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C, Apple’s other new iPhone that will be debuting on September 20th as well.
At 3AM EST, Apple, along with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, will begin taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C ahead of its release date. We learned today that Walmart will be taking in-store orders for the iPhone 5C ahead of its release and we can now confirm that RadioShack will be doing the same when its stores open tomorrow.
We have been told that it will have AT&T, Sprint and Verizon iPhone 5C units available to pre-order, in-store not online, and that stores will not be opening early but instead will open at their regular time. That means that those who wish to put an order in as soon as possible will need to do so online when orders open up early tomorrow morning.
The iPhone 5C is Apple’s new plastic iPhone that will be taking the $99 price point that is currently occupied by the iPhone 4S. It will join the iPhone 5S in pushing out the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4, and it will be doing so with a 4-inch Retina Display, A6 processor, 8MP camera, iOS 7 and a design that comes in several different colors.
