Walmart Black Friday 2013 Price Matching Starts a Week Early
The Walmart Black Friday 2013 ad doesn’t start until Thanksgiving day, but the company announced this morning that they are starting Black Friday early by price matching the competition starting this week.
The new Walmart Black Friday deals start at 8 AM and are designed to match some of the best Black Friday 2013 deals from competitors like Target, Toys R Us and Best Buy — a week before the deals officially arrive at these other stores.
The early Walmart Black Friday sales will include a variety of items from toys to electronics and even a collection of PS4 and Xbox One game deals that cut the price of a new game by $10.
Walmart also used the opportunity to remind shoppers that it will price match on Black Friday and Thanksgiving day. This is exciting, but it’s worth noting that most of the deals on Black Friday are for retailer specific versions of a computer or HDTV. The device may be the same inside and out, but Best Buy and Walmart are known for using model numbers only found at their stores to combat price matching.
Here are a selection of the early Walmart Black Friday deals that start this weekend.
- LG 50-inch HDTV – WAS: $598, NEW PRICE: $448
- Skylanders and Infinity Starter Packs – WAS: $74.96, NEW PRICE: $37
- Select PS4 and Xbox One Video Games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14 and Battlefield 4 – WAS: $59.96, NEW PRICE: $49
These are just a selection of the early Black Friday deals at Walmart. There is no ad for this so shoppers will need to head in store on Friday or check online for more details about what is on sale as part of the Black Friday price matching offer.
Walmart is also offering the Christmas Ad Match program to purchases made on Walmart.com. The Christmas Ad Match refunds a difference in price between and item sold at Walmart and at a local brick and Mortar store all the way up through December 24th, though it excludes Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday. Shoppers should be able to buy the PS4 and Xbox One games early and then get the difference back in the form of a gift card.
“Black Friday is our Super Bowl and we plan to win,” Duncan Mac Naughton, chief merchandising and marketing officer, Walmart U.S. said in a press release about the new offers, adding, “When it comes to price, we’re going to deliver for them.”
The Walmart Black Friday 2013 deals start at 6 PM on Thanksgiving day and continue on Black Friday and through the weekend. There are a number of tempting deals including the best Black Friday iPad mini deal we’ve seen. The iPad mini is $299 at Walmart on Black Friday, which is the regular price. But it is guaranteed in stock for the first hour and it comes with a $100 gift card, effectively dropping the price to $199.
There are many other Walmart Black Friday deals including a $100 gift card with the purchase of a Moto X, Galaxy S4 and other Android phones. There is also a $75 gift card with the purchase of an iPhone 5s or iPhone 5c. All of these cell phone deals require a two-year contract, and are only open to customers eligible to upgrade.
