T-Mobile iPhone 5s Dropping to $0 Down for Black Friday
There are no shortages of Black Friday deals this year, and while we’re still a couple days away from the big shopping day, many retailers are already having sales, some of which are lasting all week long into next Monday. Carriers are no exception, and T-Mobile will be having a Black Friday sale of its own, according to TmoNews.
From November 29 to December 1, T-Mobile will be offering the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c at $0 down. This is essentially a savings of $149 for the iPhone 5s and a $49 saving for the iPhone 5c. Furthermore, while this deal is supposed to end on Sunday, T-Mobile is said to be offering a not-as-impressive-but-still-amazing deal on the two phones on Cyber Monday, where you can get the iPhone 5s for $49 down and the iPhone 5c for $9 down.
However, since this is merely a leak, we’re not sure if this deal will affect the monthly payments that you’ll have to make in order to pay for the cost of the rest of the phone, but our guess is that those payments will reflect the savings that you’ll get when you get either one of the iPhones during Black Friday weekend.
If you weren’t aware, T-Mobile recently did away with contracts, and now all of its subscribers are on off-contract plans, meaning that all customers have to buy their smartphone at full cost, which may seem intimidating, but you won’t be nailed down to a two-year contract, and T-Mobile lets you pay for that phone with monthly payments so that you’re not shelling out a bunch of cash up front.
This is one of the better deals we’ve seen for the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c for Black Friday, but it merely comes down to what carrier you want to be on. While T-Mobile is heavily discounting the new iPhones, the carrier’s coverage isn’t as grand as Verizon’s or AT&T’s and its LTE coverage is even more dismal currently. That will change over time, and it really depends on your location and whether or not you travel a lot, but if coverage is important to you, T-Mobile might not be the best place to get a phone plan.
But it’s hard to say no to this kind of deal, so if you’re in the market for a new iPhone and wouldn’t mind T-Mobile’s coverage, we’d say it’s a home run.
