iPhone 6 Concept Video: Bigger Screen, Sleeker Design
Excitement for the iPhone 6 continues to grow as consumers create their own iPhone 6 feature wishlists and hang on the edge of new iPhone 6 rumors. Adding to the speculation is a new iPhone 6 concept video that shows a thinner iPhone with a slightly new design and a 4.7-inch 1080P HD display.
iPhone 6 concepts like the one shown below come from rumors and artistic creation and are not leaked images of an iPhone 6 from Apple so you won’t see this specific phone on store shelves, but it is a beautiful look at how an iPhone 6 with a bigger screen could look like.
The iPhone 6 concept video rom Ran Avni and Alex Casabo from Concept-Phones runs through multiple angles showing a design that is recognizable as an iteration of the iPhone 5s, with a chamfered edges and a similar overall design, but a larger screen and subtle changes show what could be new.
Some of the most noticeable changes in this iPhone 6 concept include the camera shifting to the middle of the device, which is something we wouldn’t expect from Apple as well as new pill shaped volume buttons that offer a larger area to press. The concept upgrades Apple’s iPhone 5s screen from a 4-inch slab to a 4.7-=inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The larger screen pushes the dimension s to 130mm tall and 63 mm wide, which is an increase of 6.3mm in height and 4.4 in width. The phone is 2mm thinner than the iPhone 5s.
An iPhone 6 concept does not need to account for the same real-life needs as the iPhone 6 prototypes Apple is surely working with in labs right now. This gives artists greater freedom to shrink phones and offer nice looking phones, but this concept still shows that a large screen doesn’t mean an iPhone 6 that is hard to use with one hand.
We’ve heard many rumors of an iPhone 6 with a 4.x inch display with 4.7-inch and 4.8-inch options leading the pack in rumors. The latest iPhone 6 rumor from the person who correctly predicted the iPad 3 Retina display months in advance suggests one version of the iPhone 6 will come with a 4.7-inch display, though he suggests it will come with a 720P display and a larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will get a 1080P display.
This iPhone 6 concept runs iOS 7.2 with new features like quick reply, close all open apps and a new way to use Touch ID to access apps. Some of these features sound interesting, but we expect to see an iPhone 6 with iOS 8 later in the yeah. Despite some analyst predictions of a fast iPhone 6 release it is more likely to come after Apple’s summer WWDC 2014 event, where if the company keeps with tradition a new version of iOS will be announced.
