5 Best Wallet Cases for the Samsung Galaxy S5

Published

on

When it comes to buying a case for your Samsung Galaxy S5 the options are almost unlimited. Every case manufacturer around seems to be offering an option for the popular flagship phone, but we have a few unique ones to share.

Picking a case for your new $600 smartphone or 2-year investment is no easy task, and you’ll want to select something that will protect your device, but hopefully also offer some added functions or features. Cases with kickstands, flip covers, and even wallet cases are a few that come to mind.

The new Samsung Galaxy S5 has only been available for a week or so here in the United States, but early reports suggest it’s selling my the millions, and tons of buyers will be looking for awesome cases in the near future. We’ve already rund0wn 11 or so great Galaxy S5 cases, but below we have five more awesome wallet case alternatives.

GalaxyS5-walletcase

Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is dust and water resistant with an IP67 certification, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t still cover it with a case. Protecting it from drops to break the screen, or daily wear and tear is still something many will do. So you may as well get added functionality at the same time. Lets take a look at five awesome wallet cases.

CM4 Q-Card Case

Odd name aside, the Q-Card case shown above (and below) is probably our favorite Galaxy S5 wallet case for a few reasons. For one, it isn’t a flip case like almost everything else available. We’re not fans of holding a flap open to use and enjoy our device, which makes the CM4 an attractive offer out of the gate. Secondly it’s made of a durable lightweight plastic that protects the screen and camera, but then finished off with premium leather for the wallet aspect of the case.

One other extremely awesome feature that many may overlook is the built-in audio amplifier. Once you throw a case on the Galaxy S5 and put it on a table, that added thickness becomes a sealant for the speaker, and makes hearing calls or alerts difficult. CM4 has a built-in port that routes the speaker to the front, essentially making it a quality (and louder) front facing speaker. It’s an awesome design, and my case of choice for the Galaxy S4 too.

The CM4 Q-Card Wallet case for the Galaxy S5 can hold three credit cards, or two and some cash, protects the device extremely well, and comes in three unique colors. Black, Midnight Blue, or Pacific Green. This case is available as we speak for $39.99 from CM4.com

Spigen Case Wallet for Galaxy S5

Next up to make the list is from the popular case manufacter Spigen. They’re more known for awesome screen protectors, but the company has a nice flip wallet case for the Galaxy s5. Like a few others mentioned below, this flips open to reveal three credit card slots, and an extra space for storing cash.

Spigen-S5-wallet

This wallet is made with premium synthetic leather, and has a durable magnet strap to keep the case securely shut so nothing important can fall out. Meaning your credit cards should be safe.

The back creases in two and doubles as a somewhat adjustable stand too, meaning this is a wallet case that doubles as a dock for viewing movies and Netflix. The Spigen Flip Wallet case for the Galaxy S5 comes in Brown, Black or White, and can be yours for $15.99 from Amazon.

OtterBox Commuter Wallet Case

Otterbox is one of the most popular and best-selling case makers in the United States, and have tons of options for the Galaxy S5. It’s included here because surprisingly they have a wallet option, and one that isn’t like the two previously mentioned. Otterbox completely conceals your wallet in the back of the case, but as a result it is a bit bulky.

The same popular dual-layer Commuter series with a soft inner layer protected with a durable polycarbonate hard-shell outer layer now has an attachment for storing credit cards and cash. The Commuter case still has the usual four inner silicon color options, and comes in black, grey, or white for the durable hard-shell and wallet addition.

There’s little details provided by Otterbox, but this appears to slide down with front access to your storage compartment. Anything from business cards, credit card, to even a key could potentially be stored with this wallet case. The Otterbox Commuter Wallet case is available now for $39.90 from Otterbox.

SUPCASE Wallet for Galaxy S5

Similar to the Spigen mentioned above, SUPCASE has a neat flip cover wallet case as well. This is the style most wallet cases come in, even though many buyers aren’t a fan of that flippy flap in the way. Try taking pictures while holding that back. It’s a bit frustrating.

The SUPCASE holds two credit cards, ID or Cash, and comes in a similar synthetic leather material. However they have a soft-touch suede like inner lining for added protection, and to keep that Galaxy S5 scratch free.

This case has the same two-fold rear design to double as a stand, and will allow for an easy hands-free viewing experience. The benefit here is the price, and you can get the SUPCASE Flip Wallet for the Galaxy S5 for $12.99 on Amazon.

TerraPin Premium Two-Tone Wallet Case

Last but not least is the TerraPin Premium PU leather case with a nice two-tone design. Offering a similar overall feature set and design as the flip cases mentioned above, only with a more premium look and feel. This case features a two-tone leather design, and a soft plastic inner shell for added protection from drops.

Like the Spigen near the top of our list this case has three credit card or ID slots, not two, and still a fourth area or secret compartment for cash or additional storage. Just like every case we detailed today, the TerraPin has cutouts for all ports, buttons, and options that come standard with the Samsung Galaxy S5. Get the TerraPin PU LEather case in black, or black & tan for $12.95 from Amazon.

If a wallet case doesn’t interest you, there are tons of other case options readily available from nearly all popular manufactures specifically for the Samsung Galaxy S5, so get to looking.

Otterbox seems good as I will consider buying these accessories for my Galaxy S5. I received my Smartphone a week ago along with wireless charger and receiver. I think white suits best for it as its back cover is also white in color.

Hmmm. Keep my credit cards RIGHT NEXT to my phone so they can get demagnetized?
    Thanks but no thanks.

Darren I’ve used the case pictured on my Galaxy S4 for nearly a year and it hasn’t killed a single card. Debit, or door key at hotels. No worries man

Darren: Radiowaves aren’t the same type of energy as magnetism. You cannot damage the magnetic strips with radio waves any more than you can damage the RFID cards with a magnet.

The galaxy s5 should be using something made with real leather for a best wallet case. Anything synthetic should not really classify as being a best for this category. It should also be either black or brown as these are some of the best colors for a real leather case. Here is a really good one https://goo.gl/ftU5Va
