You don’t need to buy Mountain Dew, or jump through any hoops. Just login to PSN, Xbox Live or on your PC and you’ll see a message alerting you to the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Double XP weekend.

Sledgehammer games announced the Double XP event on Twitter, and the good news is that it runs through Monday at 10 am PT, so even if you already had weekend plans you can still enjoy leveling up faster when you should be prepping for work or school on Sunday night.

In Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare players earn XP for accomplishing tasks in multiplayer games and can unlock gear and progress through the game while earning XP. Many weapons and player customizations come after you earn enough XP, with fun weapons unlocking around level 20 and many more as you approach level 50 and Prestige.

If you play enough during this opening weekend, you can level up twice as fast — hitting the higher levels where you can unlock other gear and weapons in half the time it would normally take. Even if you are itching to play the single player mode, it’s worth experimenting in multiplayer during the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Double XP weekend.

Best Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Classes

The right weapons, gear and perks will help you level up faster in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and part of that is picking the best class. Although we’ve been playing with SMGs so far, the best classes according to people who play way more than us include assault rifles and the right attachments. Depending on who you listen to, you’ll want a parabolic mic, suppressor or a foregrip and a better site. Both agree that you want a stock, as it lets you move faster and strafe left to right so you aren’t a sitting duck.

Be a Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Ninja

If you want to move around the map without constantly showing up on enemy radar, silently taking out your enemies and how to move across the map as fast as possible. This guide shows you how to boost, bash and take out the enemies without showing up on enemy radar.

You’ll need the Blast Suppressor perk hides your exo boost movements. You can also use a wildcard to add a third perk so you don’t need to pick between other perks you still need. The video above also outlines the movement to help you boost and dive around maps.

Use the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Mini-Map

You’ll need to use the new mini map to know where your enemies are and what’s happening around you. You can add a level 2 perk called Peripherals to see much more of the mini map and it’s a great one.

You can also see information on the map that will help you be a better Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare player and rank up faster. You’ll know when the enemy can see you, and now you can see which direction enemies are looking and indicators to see if the enemy is above or below.

The AC bundles are very good value. Some countries even have Rayman Legends added to it as well. Awesome!
