Google's brand new Nexus 6 is finally widely available. That's good because the Motorola-made smartphone is one of the best big screen smartphones on the market and a device that we think prospective iPhone 6 Plus buyers must rule out before handing money over to Apple.
The Nexus 6 features a massive 6-inch Quad HD display, speedy processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, a 13MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a host of carriers in the United States, and a price tag that's competitive with the iPhone 6 Plus price point. All of these features help to position the device as a viable alternative to the iPhone 6 Plus. If you're in any way leaning towards going Android over iOS, you must check out the Nexus 6 from Motorola and Google. It's a top notch smartphone and one of the best Android phones on the market. Take a look at it if you're in the hunt in the first month of the year. |

One phone not mentioned that I really like is the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. I bought mine while I was in southeast Asia but you can now buy it on Amazon. It is Iphone like with no app drawer and a aluminum back with an excellent touch sensitive finger print reader on the back. It has a 6 inch screen yet is almost the same size as Iphone. My only complaint is it could have brighter screen outdoors and I wish it had a wacom screen with built in pen like the Samsung Note series. I think Huawei has Apple and Samsung in their headlights. The Huawei Mate 2 (Fry’s was selling it) which has a 6.1 inch screen is a great phone also, especially considering it sells for $300 (or about $225 from Consumer Cellular). I would only buy the Mate 7 (MT7-L09) if you use T Mobile because it gives you full LTE on that network only.
