When you first set up Apple Music, you went through a short process that let Apple Music know what kind of music you liked listening to. You picked out specific genres of music, as well as select some of your favorite artists.

Resetting Apple Music Recommendations

It’s actually really easy to reset your Apple Music recommendations and doesn’t take a lot of time at all.

Simply just tap on the Profile icon in the top-left corner and then tap Choose Artists for You. From there, you can change the genres that you have selected, as well as the artists that you have selected on the next page.

To remove a genre from your recommendations, simply tap on until the icon in the circle disappears and it’s just the word displaying. The same goes for genre selection.

If you want to start over completely from scratch, simply tap the Reset button at the bottom. This will erase all of your selected genres and artists, and you’ll then be able to start over by selecting new genres and artists. That’s all there is to it!

Of course, this isn’t the only Apple Music trick that you should know. There is a handful of neat tips that can improve the Apple Music experience for you.

For instance, there are a couple of notable things you should know about getting better Apple Music recommendations, including knowing what the “heart” button does when playing a song and the button that says “play more like this.”

It’s also a good idea to turn off the automatic renewal so that when your free 3-month trial is up, you don’t get automatically charged. Of course, if you plan on using Apple Music after the free trial, then you’re good to go, but if you’re not sure what you think, it might be best to disable the auto-renewal for now.

You can also disable automatic artist following, which happens when you add an artist to your library. When you follow artists, you can see what they’re up to in the Connect section of Apple Music, but it’s a feature that not everyone will really use, so it’s best to disable this small setting if you don’t use Connect.

Of course, if Apple Music turns out to not be the greatest thing, you can at least turn off some of the Apple Music features and go back to using the old Music app interface. It’s not the best solution, but it certainly works.
