I could've added this to replay value but I felt like it needed to be called out on its own.
Fallout 4 differs from Fallout 3 in that it features an insane amount of crafting. You mod weapons and armor but you can also craft full blown settlements that come to life as you make improvements. And as Fallout 4 gamers have shown, you can really get creative with the tool. You don't need to build settlements to enjoy Fallout 4 or beat the game but ultimately, I think you'll be swayed because it's so well done. The settlement crafting is like a game within a game. I was a bit apprehensive at first but as the game has opened up and as more settlers have come to rely on me for assistance, I've grabbed the bull by the horns and taken a deep dive into the world of crafting. I haven't played a ton of Minecraft but the influences are clearly there. And like Minecraft, settlement building in Fallout 4 can be addicting.
I haven't made an island fortress or an AT-AT with rooms but the fact that I can build these and massive forts that stretch into the sky feels amazing. There's the questing and killing and chatting with the wasteland's inhabitants. And then there's this part of the game. I love both and I think many of you will to, especially if you love creating living breathing worlds.
