Fallout 4 1.5.4 Update: What’s New
General Stability and Performance Improvements

As we noted in our impressions of the Fallout 4 1.4 update, Fallout 4's come a long way since November but there's still room for improvement, particularly on console. On 1.4, we encountered various performance issues on the Xbox One. Combat inside buildings could be extremely sluggish, the apperance of Vertibirds in dense areas slowed the game down to a crawl and fights in radiation storms were experience-breakers due to frame rate issues. We also continued to see lag when changing weapons. The Fallout 4 1.5.4 patch doesn't outline any specific tweaks but it does come with the good old "General Stability and Performance Improvements." It's vague but we've seen performance improvements after every single patch. So far, version 1.5.4 update feels exactly like the 1.4 update. It's solid but there is still sluggishness and slowdown in dense areas, during radiation storms, and when vertibirds appear out of the sky shooting at distant enemies. We'll provide some more feedback later on this week.
