HTC One Android 4.3 Update Details Coming Soon
HTC President Jason Mackenzie has promised HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update details for owners in the United States at some point this week, though, he stopped short of confirming updates for this week saying that owners need to “stay tuned” for update information and that the company is waiting for approval for the software.
Last month, Mackenzie promised HTC One Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates for HTC One owners across SKUs in the United States. That confirmation confirmed that the AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon HTC One models would be skipping Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and would be heading straight for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update with Sense enhancements on board.
Sadly, Mackenzie disappointed HTC One owners in the U.S. when he announced that the updates would be missing their September deadline but that they shouldn’t be missing it by too much.

Since then, he has been inundated with questions from HTC One owners in the United States and those questions have prompted him to respond. He says that he will be issuing an update on the Android 4.3 update process sometime this week, when he has solid information. He claims that the “phones being certified now so matter of getting approvals.”
@NorthJoseph just want to make sure you get solid information. Phones being certified now so matter of getting approvals.

In response to one question about whether the updates will be arriving this week, Mackenzie issued a cryptic response, claiming that owners need to “stay tuned.”
@AJCloutier @KentonIsMe stay tuned.

It’s looking like the company is at least getting closer to pushing these updates out but it’s still not clear if they will arrive this week or sometime further out in October. Given that the update recently rolled out to carriers in Canada, it’s possible that Mackenzie could finally deliver good news later on this week.
In just a few weeks, Google will replace Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with an Android 4.4 KitKat update, said to be coming with the Nexus 5, though it’s still unclear where that update will be headed. HTC hasn’t confirmed any Android 4.4 KitKat details and the only company to confirm an Android 4.4 KitKat update is Pantech, which confirmed the software for its Vega Iron smartphone.
