Texas Child Protective Services goes Tablet PC

What a great story by Tiani Jones with CBS 11 TV out of Dallas Fort Worth. In her news story, she features Texas’ Child Protective Services and their use of Tablet PCs. Apparently, every case worker will soon be equipped with a Tablet PC.

These are the kind of  “Life With Ink” stories that show the impact the Tablet PC and software can have on how folks work and also make a difference in the lives they strive to help. Here is a link to the story, which also contains a video of the actual news story. Can anyone tell me what Tablet PC they are using? :-)

Texas Child Protective Services is changing the way it operates. Soon every case worker in the state will be equipped with a mobile office.

When David Smith walks out the door, his office is always with him. The family and protective service investigator is equipped with the latest in technology, called the ‘Tablet PC’.

“It gives us the ability to go out and work in the field and to access our workloads, and any referral forms, and any background information, that otherwise we would not be able to get unless we went back to the office,” Smith said.
