How to Measure and Save Wear and Tear On UMPC Batteries

Published

on

Kevin Tofel and Rodfather have been blogging about wear and tear on Ultra-Mobile PC batteries. And if you don’t know, batteries begin showing their age after you begin using them. Sort of like driving that new car off of the proverbial lot. I always remember what fellow Tablet PC MVP WNewquay said about batteries. We need to think about them as consumables as they do wear out with time.

Rodfather (and Kevin) are using Notebook Hardware Control (an excellent free utility) to measure the wear and tear on their UMPC batteries and finding out that indeed they are consumable. Of course there are some ways to maximize the use, and Kevin posted the method for recalibrating your battery for the Samsung Q1 series. Here’s the link for that. By the way, if you haven’t yet subscribed to Rodfather’s new blog, you might want to do so.
