Smudge Free Screens in our Future?

We can only hope! According to Engadget, L.G.Philips is creating a new method of making our mobile screens smudge-free. Tablet PC and Ultra-Mobile PC owners know precisely how important that is. I’ve been very happy (and surprised!) by how smudge-free my HP 2710p is, and the thought of a smudge free future is enticing. In addition to the standard smudges and fingerprints, LG Philips LCD claims that even dust and permanent ink will not stick to the surface. There goes the problems with using an ink pen on your Tablet PC screen! Apparently it uses technology "employs a principle similar to that used on non-stick frying pans. Dirt and oil can easily be wiped away," said Ahn Byung-Chul, development chief for advanced technology, in a related article on Yahoo.

Look for mass production in the first half of 2008.
