Lenovo X200 Tablet PC vs Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC: Benchmarks

Posted by | 10/16/2008 | 7 Comments

image I’m not a big fan of benchmarks because it is almost impossible to fairly compare two different units together. Such is the case the with the Lenovo X200 Tablet PC and the Dell Latitude XT Tablet PC.

However, because we have many readers who thrive on such benchmarks, I’ve run CrystalMark on both units. Keep the specs in mind when comparing the two. Even though the benchmarks tell a different story, given the type of work I do, I can’t tell much of a performance difference between the two. I have not crunched any video on them yet, but I’ll do that soon and post those times up.

Hopefully the next intel (or amd) platform will offer much greater performance boost.

I just ran CM on my x61t, 4GB RAM, and 320GB 5400RPM HDD, which gave me a composite of 57660 (on Vista SP1).

I’m surprised at how low the HDD score for the XT is, as I got 9715. I have no idea if the Turbo Memory was actually being used, but the number seems way too low to justify the cost differences.

    Hi Rob,
I really appreciate your work but I can’t see the point in this article. I miss something that would make the comparison valuable like price, weight, or else.
If those machine are equal in price, then the Lenovo might be a good deal as it gives more power.
Of course, if the post was titled “Lenovo X200 Tablet PC benchmark” an the Dell XT used as a reference mark, it would be different.
Thanks for your great job anyway.

agree, Alex. I can see where including price would be beneficial. I’ll add that in.

Like I said, though – they are totally different configs, but people have asked for benchmarks, so I gave them.

I know what you mean Rob. However, I do appreciate the benchmarks.
