Sync Windows Live Writer Drafts with Live Mesh

Published

on

wlwmesh I didn’t think of this until I saw it posted by Sarah Perez on Channel 10, but it just makes sense for those who use Windows Live Writer as a blogging tool and have multiple computers. You can save your drafts in Windows Live Writer to a Live Mesh enabled folder and then have the accessible across all of your Mesh devices.

If you already sync your documents folder you’ll have your My Weblogs Folder included. If not, it is simple enough to add the folder by right-clicking on it to add the folder to your mesh.

Yes, Mesh can easily handle this… but so could FolderShare, now Live Sync. On that note, so could Groove. Seems MS hasn't really decided how they want to handle this type of thing. I have a question for you, we tried Groove at our company but it was too heavy for some of the low powered mobiles our field guys use (such as LS800's), causing performance hits. We then switched to FolderShare, which works like a charm with no noticable performance hits. The features of Mesh look a lot like Groove, good features, but I'm concerned about it being heavy (RAM and CPU intensive) like Groove was. We cannot handle that, we need something lightweight. I suppose Live Sync could do it, but the features and Mobile Phone access of Mesh is desireable. Any thoughts?
