Dell and AT&T Offer $99 Subsidized Mini-9 Netbook

They call it a ““nearly irresistible offer” and it is for a limited time. Dell and AT&T have teamed up to offer the Dell Inspirion Mini-9 for a subsidized price of $99 through January 31, 2009. The price is after a $350 mail-in-rebate and of course you’ve got to sign away your existence to AT&T for two years at $60 per month.

The deal is available exclusively on Dell.com. I’m not sure if it is ““nearly irresistible” or just a clever ploy to clear out some inventory.

I’m gonna have to say good way to clear inventory, because over the 2 year agreement the “deal” certainly doesn’t seem quite so attractive… but then again, neither does the iPhone pricing and people buy into it like hotcakes, so whatever floats their financial boats, I suppose.
