Sprint Early Termination Class Action Case Could Mean $90 or $35 in your Pocket

sprintlogo If you’re a Sprint customer and signed a contract between July 1999 and December 2008 you might be eligible for some cash. If you were charged an ETF you are eligible for $90. You have to provide proof.

If you didn’t cancel for the purposes of avoiding paying the ETF you could be eligible for $35. You need to jump through the legal mumbo-jumbo, but you can do the paperwork at this link and read all about it here.

    Thanks for the info Warner. I’ve had two sprint phones on my family account since my daughter got a new phone from work and my ex-wife bought a phone for my son that we haven’t used. Been paying 10.00 a month on them through our family plan until the contract ends because sprint told me it would be cheaper to pay the monthly fee rather than the 400.00 (200.00 per phone) to terminate them early.

    Thanks for posting this! We posted the full details of this (as credited by the Consumerist) at Top Class Actions. Those interested in submitting their claim will want to make sure that they get the answers correct or else they won’t be offered the full amount as the reward. You might get stuck with a $25 refund instead of the full $90 (for those who were charged and paid the ETF.) Also, by default current subscribers don’t get a dime… Unless they answer the questions correctly as well :) These settlements can be very tricky.
