save-the-netbooks-campaign-fights-the-impending-trademark-threatWhile many, including the good folks at Save the Netbooks, think that Dell and Intel’s legal moves against Psion Teklogix over the term Netbook will win out, Google is playing it safe when it comes to using the term in advertising and rejecting ads that carry the word Netbook. Legally speaking, and I’m no lawyer, Google really has no choice but to let this thing wind its way through the courts. Keep in mind, strange things can happen in legal maneuverings.

Actually, this is a rejection of a review of their current ban; Google had already pulled ads with the “netbook” key word. The “pull” should be past tense, not present.

Google, you are a sad, pathetic sissy for catering to a futile cause!
