Asus Considering Qualcomm Powered Netbooks

asuslogo1Asus has carried the Intel banner throughout its march to Netbook dominance with the vaunted triple E brand. I guess they just can’t stop checking for different options. Digitimes is reporting that Asus is exploring the possibility of using Qualcomm’s low powered platform as a potential future alternative.

Qualcomm’s chips populate cell phones the world over and as Brad Linder at Liliputing states with Asus already interested in Netbooks running Google’s Android OS, this lends some interesting resonances to the possibilities.

Nothing is set yet, and consider this just rumblings of what may or may not come to be.   The Digitimes article also has some interesting info into how Asus thinks of the Netbook market.
