Microsoft’s Concepts for Future User Interface

Posted by | 04/27/2009 | 1 Comment

XUI Long Zheng posted up a couple of very intriguing videos that show off some work from a group at Microsoft called Volume Studios. These go beyond concepts to what is described as a ““poetic narrative” on how developing technologies could possibly blend into our daily lives.

The UI is called the experience-user-interface (XUI) and is supposedly the next evolution of how we’ll interact with our computers. In the one titled Home you can see a user closing his laptop and using the lid as a Surface-like control surface and even scanning a document. Pretty fancy. Again, more inspiration than specific plans, but still very cool.

Video after the jump.
