High Cost Large Notebook PC Coming Next?

I just had an insightful twitter conversation with AMD’s Patrick Moorhead about Microsoft’s anti-Netbook / Low Cost Small Notebook PC naming strategy (LCSNPC). I asked him for his thoughts, and although they don’t reflect AMD’s official position on this whole thing, they are pretty insightful and humorous none-the-less:

@rbushway: @PatrickMoorhead would love to hear your thoughts on MSFTs “low cost small notebook pc”. I understand the whole Intel / netbook thing, but..

@patrickmoorehead: @rbushway LCSNP a mouthful. Will never translate to PR and mktg bc too long. I guess now we have HCSNP, LCLNP, HCLNP. :)

Translation:

HCSNP: High Cost Small Notebook PC
LCLNP: Low Cost Large Notebook PC
HCLNP: High Cost Large Notebook PC

Let’s don’t pass this info on to Microsoft and give them any other big ideas, ok? I asked Pat if AMD would be coming out with an official statement on Microsoft’s recategorization effort and he had not replied yet.   I don’t expect AMD to.
