The USB Chainsaw Is Not Real But a Promotion Idea

Posted by | 07/11/2009 | 2 Comments

Drat. Turns out the USB chainsaw I linked to the other day is not real. Instead it is a promotional idea that seeks to call attention to the wastefulness of printers. The site has now changed into the Papercut site and instead of ordering a USB chainsaw, you can download a program that makes the sound of a chainsaw every time you use your printer.

I guess the idea is to remind you that you are killing trees when you print.

Trees are like a farm crop.
If people don’t use paper, they will not plant more trees to make more paper…
thus resulting in less trees(tree loss from: fire, beetle/bug kills, disease, storms, etc)
