Radio Shack Rebranding to The Shack?

Image can be everything and I guess Radio Shack wants to change its image, or at least that’s what the current talk is. Looks like August 6 will be the unveiling of a new promotion featuring The Shack supposedly connected to “larger than life laptops” in New York City and San Fransisco. There’s a countdown on this site here. Word is this is coming as part of “mobile push.”

    Funny story… I was in the Shack over the weekend to buy some speaker wire. After the guy checked me out, he says “so, do you have a cell phone?” (did he just ask me that?!!!) I said “umm, yeah, I have an iPhone w/ AT&T”. He says “well, you know we carry AT&T phones, so if you ever want to upgrade to a better phone, and not pay all of that money on data service, I can help get you into something else”. LOL… Was he serious? I got a good laugh out of that one!!!

    so they’re going to change their image from a respectable electronics dealer to…a crumbling, broken down old house? yea guys, let’s go to The Shack! And “netogether”? please.
