Hands on with the Archos 9 Tablet

500x_Archos9dJoanna Stern, who I guess is now working at Gizmodo, gives a quick hands on with the Archos 9 Tablet. This touchscreen tablet that has evolved from Archos’ PMP line certainly has captured a lot of attention from many quarters. Joanna says the device feels a bit heavy or unbalanced at its 1.9lbs weigh in. It has a resistive touch screen and is running Windows 7 Starter edition.

Joanna isn’t sure about the $500 price point, and to be truthful, neither am I. But Archos has a potential chance to make a move this fall if, as appears likely, Apple’s Tablet doesn’t show up until a time unknown.

Joanna has quite a few pictures and a video up with her report or you can see the video after the jump.

Just a reminder, this device is not Windows Touch Compliant.

I have no idea if this table would support Multi Touch, since Windows 7 does support from software side?

arckal: Multi-touch on resistive touchscreens is possible, but not commercially available, so this does not support multi-touch.
