The Incredible Shrinking Apple Tablet Rumor

Posted by | 09/15/2009 | 4 Comments

apple_tabletAs predicted last week, it didn’t take long for new Apple Tablet rumors to surface. Now we’re hearing that the device will have a smaller screen (9.6 inches instead of 10 or greater) and cost between $799 and $999. We’re also hearing in this latest round of rumors that AT&T will be the 3G carrier.

Don’t hold your breath on any of this as it is still all conjecture, rumor, speculation, wishful thinking, possible, and perhaps probable.

Speaking of Tablets, mediapads, and what have you, now that The TechCrunch50 conference is happening, we could all use some news about that CrunchPad, Michael Arrington.

yeah, weren’t we supposed to get an unveiling in July from Mr. Arrington

Since Apple is still locked up with AT&T I am less enthused about this rumor. I went back to a BB on Verizon from my iPhone due to the marginal (at best) AT&T coverage where I live – only about an hour North of NYC. I’ll take tethering my Netbook over an Apple Tablet on AT&T.

If there is no inking capability on it, for me…they can keep it. As exciting as the media functionality would be, if I can’t write on it, I don’t want it.

GMA, I cannot agree with you more. Without inking, then it will just be a large screen iPod. The rumors say they want to hit the education market, which only ink can make useful, IMO–unless Apple is imagining a world of podcast education.
