Apple Tablet Rumor Mill: OLED Option Delays Nirvana Until Late 2010

It wouldn’t be a day without an Apple Tablet rumor. The latest is probably going to upset some folks who are counting on the device to be the next big thing. According to DigiTimes, Apple is going to be delaying the release until late 2010 so that it can add a very expensive OLED screen option. The post states that Apple will have two models one with a LCD screen and the other with and OLED screen. You’ll pay a bunch for that latter option. Based on the rumors the OLED option will retail for around $2000. The LCD option is supposedly in the $800-$1000 range.

Of course this is all speculation. But if true, Michael Arrington and the Crunchpad folks will be smiling.
