AT&T worried about Friday or just a coincidence?

ATTnewcelltowerHa! Got this txt msg from AT&T today. Apparently they’re adding a new cell site in the next town over (or what would be a next town over if my area was incorporated as a town). Great location, actually. Lot of tall trees and hills really mess with reception.

But as this is the first time in more than a year with AT&T that I’ve gotten a notice about a new cell site, I must wonder if Friday’s promised demonstration of civil disobedience has them being a little more verbal about their network upgrades. Still, nice to know my local coverage is beefed up.

Interesting. I just got a similar message about them increasing coverage in Montgomery County along Democracy Blvd – never had a message like it previously, and somehow I doubt that both these towers came online on the same day.

Weird… and I’m liable to think your conspiracy theory is correct.

I’ve had a couple of these messages in the past year – really didn’t see any improvement though. Once I moved to the iPhone two weeks ago, my reception has improved quite a bit. Despite all the complaints from iPhone users, I have only suffered one dropped call in those two weeks.
