Hands on with the Lenovo U1 Hybrid and What’s Up with the Digtizer Secrecy?

2010-01-05u1hybridpageEngadget got some hands on time with a pre-production Lenovo U1 Hybrid we wrote about earlier today and they seem quite impressed, although the viewing angle didn’t impress. They’ve got video up and from a quick glance between early evening cocktails here on my vacation, it looks quite promising.

That said, what’s the deal with all the digitizer secrecy. According to the Engadget report, Lenovo isn’t saying who makes the resistive touch screen. That should be a challenge for the GBM Team on the ground in Vegas to try and find this info out. After all, the digitizer is one of the key components in Tablets. And we’re talking anything that is going to be masquerading as a Tablet soon to be ballyhooed in Vegas.

So, come on guys, get the goods on this one, and come on Lenovo, let’s get some info out there.
