Rumor: Sprint to Team up with Walmart for WiMax Tower Locations
This rumor makes plenty of sense when you consider that Walmart Stores get built where people live. As the rumor goes, Sprint is teaming up with Walmart to place WiMax towers on the top of Walmart Stores. That would certainly be one way to push out the coverage of the much ballyhooed but lagging rollout of the 4G technology.
To give you an idea about how slow this rollout has been James Kendrick reminds the world that he came up with the idea back in 2005. The map below supposedly shows WalMart Store locations and gives an idea of how that might look.
