Fake Steve Jobs Doesn’t Like the iPad So Much

This will prove interesting for those who follow Dan Lyons’ alter ego, Fake Steve Jobs. Om Malik caught up with him after the iPad event and Lyons doesn’t seem all that impressed with the iPad. Of course in his real life Lyons is a tech journalist for Newsweek. But as Fake Steve he pens some pretty hysterical stuff ripping on all those who don’t get what Apple is trying to do. Like I said, it should prove very interesting.

    hahaha
It was funny that the guy kept on asking… “no, seriously..”
Not wanting to hear the answer he was getting.
I could not agree more that apple has pioneered nothing in usefulness though and completely fell on their face with the opening spiel about it only making sense if it did things better.

A pretty idiotic response frankly – especially coming from him. I agree Jobs didnt finish articulating the argument about what it does better. Doesnt mean it wasnt made. Anyone who looks at history, can think beyond specs, and understand what app developers will bring to this 9.7″ multitouch $499+ platform understands how the rest of the story can play out…

Too be honest, I’m feeling the same way. It surely is a kindle improvement, but ain’t quite as good as we thought/hope it would be. Not being able to multi-task is a big mistake, no camera on this type of device … and not a pen-enable device neither. I must admit I hate Apple for the apple tax on very single of their products and for their constant lack of ports. Why can’t it be as simple as adding a USB and a SD reader? No you need to buy the add-ons 40$ to get what every customers should get in the package or imbedded in the device.

Truly funny how the interviewer cannot fathow how somehow can have a disparate view of the greatness of the iPad. Clearly, Lyons didn’t drink the Koolaid.

Classic ending to the interview: “OK, you’re a hater.”
