RIM Testing New Phone and Tablet Aiming at Apple

We’ve heard RIM Tablet rumors before and here we go again. This time the Wall St. Journal is saying that Blackberry maker RIM is testing out a new touch screen smartphone with a slide out keyboard with the iPhone in its sights. Also in the same article RIM is supposedly working on a Tablet that would access the great broadband in the sky by tethering to a Blackberry. If true that adds a whole new twist to the label “companion device.”

Of course RIM isn’t commenting. But then that’s how this game is always played.
