Google Expands Google Apps with More Apps for Organizations

By  |  3 Comments

Google is expanding the scope of Google Apps, a software suite based on a select number of Google Services, such as Gmail and Google Calendar, to include ten times more applications for enterprises, educational institutions, and organizations. This give organizational IT administrators more control and administrators can manage access through their Google Apps control panel. Now, companies can integrate Google Services such as Google Voice, Reader, YouTube, Blogger, AdWords, and Picasa into their Google Apps account.

Integration of additional apps in Google Apps will give administrators more control and can give selective rights and access to certain apps to specific users.

Additionally, Google is also simplifying the names of different services targeted at education, government and businesses:

  • Google Apps is our free service geared towards families, entrepreneurs and other groups up to 50 users.
  • Google Apps for Business offers 25GB of email storage per user, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, data migration capabilities, advanced management tools, telephone support, added security features and more, all for $50 per user per year.
  • Google Apps for Government is FISMA certified and designed with local, state and federal agencies in mind.
  • Google Apps for Education offers many benefits of Google Apps for Business, but at no cost to schools, universities and qualifying non-profits.

You can visit the Google Enterprise Blog for more details on the changes or watch the embedded video above.
