Is This the new Motorola UI on Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Droid X?

Although Motorola and Verizon Wireless are saying that the Motorola user interface that’s found on the carrier’s Droid-branded Motorola Android smartphones is not in fact the MOTO BLUR UI that’s been seen on phones from T-Mobile and AT&T, leaked screenshots reveal a Motorola UI that’s designed for the Droid X and is said to be running on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest version of Android prior to Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Those screen shots reveal that there will be seven home screens for widgets and shortcuts, though the shots posted at My Droid World did not indicate whether Motorola will pre-install its re-sizable widgets on the new Motorola UI.

Multiple profiles, which had debuted on the Motorola Droid 2 and is present on the Droid Pro, will also be enabled on the Droid X’s purported Android 2.3 Gingerbread build. Also, with Gingerbread, there is also a new multitasking, app switching menu interface.

The Droid X was introduced with a 4.3-inch display and was seen as Verizon Wireless’s answer to the Sprint HTC EVO 4G at the time.
