T-Mobile Says It’s Home to Over 1 Million iPhones

Published

on

We still have no idea if Apple is going to finally put its iPhone on T-Mobile when the iPhone 5 rolls around we do know that T-Mobile is currently a popular destination for iPhones that are currently on the market. In remarks made to 9to5Mac, T-Mobile confirmed that its network now plays host to over 1 million unlocked iPhones.

iPhone 4

It seems that a vast majority of the devices are pre-iPhone 4 but the carrier also claimed that more than a few people had “taken the scissors” to their SIM cards. As it stands, T-Mobile doesn’t offer microSIM support for the iPhone 4 which means that those wanting to use Apple’s latest-gen hardware have to modify their SIM card into a microSD card.

Pressed for answer in regards to microSIM availability, T-Mobile’s rep didn’t give a clear cut answer only saying that something is in the works but that there was no release window in sight. Why on earth would it use microSIM cards without at least having a device out that can use them? Might we see an official iPhone release in the future? It seems fairly likely.

The fact that there are over a million iPhones on T-Mobile’s network should be a clear sign that an iPhone option on the Magenta carrier would go over well with consumers if and when it is released.  T-Mobile of course declined to comment on whether or not they would see an iPhone come September.

It would certainly intrigue me, how about you?

I am really feeling weird about those who try to make phones like the iphone and don’t add a touch of innovation.
