T-Mobile Partners with 7-Eleven to Bring Pre-Paid Phones to Consumers

Published

T-Mobile USA has announced that it is partnering with 7-Eleven convenient stores to bring pre-paid devices to consumers, making them more accessible to people. Starting this month, 7-Eleven retail locations will begin offering the LG GS170 for just $30. The handset is a basic handset, which features: ‘an intuitive user interface with one-touch speakerphone, large visible keys and a high-resolution color display. In addition, the LG GS170 features a VGA camera, MP3 ringtone capability, Bluetooth® 2.1, text and picture messaging capability, and email support packaged in a sleek, pocket-size design.’

Additionally, for the month of August, the two partners are running a special promotion that will price the LG GS1270 for half off when customers purchase a $50 airtime card at 7-Eleven stores.

Though the press release doesn’t mention 4G, T-Mobile’s email to us did. The subject line of that email, ‘T-Mobile and 7-Eleven make 4G convenient,’ is a bit misleading as the phone isn’t a 4G phone nor would its users be able to truly benefit from 4G speeds being a simple feature phone rather than a smartphone. Those looking for a 4G pre-paid smartphone on T-Mobile USA should explore the T-Mobile Comet, the LG Optimus T, Samsung Dart, Nokia Nuron, and the BlackBerry Curve.

Alas, for those who don’t really need smartphone features and don’t really make many calls, this may be a good option.

I just paid $23.86 for an iPhone and my girlfriend loves her Dell laptop that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 42 inch LED TV to my boss for $665 which only cost me $62,81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, GrabPenny.com

    That’s
a good move by both companies, for T-Mobile it spreads their product
out and for 7-Eleven it makes the store more of a convenient one stop
location. 7-Eleven is a great company, but like many nationwide
businesses it can have some weak spots. I was surfing the internet
and I found this site where people can vent about poor customer
service or products they received… it can get really funny. I would
recommend you to check it out here.
