FBI Child ID iPhone App for Parents Released

Published

on

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is promoting the FBI Child ID app for iPhone. The FBI designed the free app to help parents keep their kids safe and communicate with the authorities should a child go missing. This is the first mobile app created by the FBI.

The FBI Child ID app stores photos and vital information about your children. The information and photos can be shown to security guards or police in an emergency. The FBI stresses that it’s important to keep up to date photos and a full description of your children, including height, weight and unique characteristics.

While most parents might think they can provide accurate descriptions of their children, it can be incredibly difficult to do so during a stressful situation. Having an accurate physical description dispatched to police is obviously very important.

The app includes a guide on what to do within the first few hours of a child going missing.

A part of the FBI Child ID app provides one-click access to local 911 and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Hopefully it’s one that you’ll never need to use in a real emergency, but it does look like good insurance.

The app is available now for iPhone users in the App Store. The FBI is planning to release the app on other platforms in the near future.

keeping data updated photos etc. at home is a sound practice in case of but
having developped an app, permanently on your iphone for that seems to hint that children

which I hope it is not the case

I just paiid $ 22.89 for an iP a d 2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $ 38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $ 657 which only cost me $ 62.81 to buy.
