It has been a long wait for Gingerbread for Motorola Droid 2 owners but it appears that that wait will be coming to an end fairly shortly as the changelog for the Droid 2’s upgrade to Android 2.3 has been released which is generally a sign that things are in motion for a public release. Unless we’re talking about the Droid Incredible’s update and the bugs that caused it to be delayed.
Barring any major setback, it appears that the Droid 2 Gingerbread update is right around the corner folks. Exciting news, unless you already ditched your Droid 2 for something better.
Now, the soak test for the Droid 2’s update was supposed to begin this week but as of yet, it’s unknown whether test members got the software. If they haven’t, the update will probably roll out next week. If they have, then this update could roll out at any minute.
As for the update itself, it’s coming packed with plenty of stuff including the new version of Blur, improved battery life, a customizable app drawer, better security, and more.
So, be on the look out, Droid 2 owners, Gingerbread is almost here.
