T-Mobile Announces Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Amaze 4G and Sonic 4G
Today at the GigaOm Mobilize conference in San Francisco T-Mobile announced a collection of new 4G devices. These fast devices include the T-Mobile Sonic 4G Mobile Hotspot and two new HSPA+ 4G smartphones, the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Amaze 4G which was formally known as the HTC Ruby 4G.
These devices are the first T-Mobile 4G HSPA+42 phones and hotspots. According to T-Mobile these devices will deliver average download speeds of 8Mbps with peak speeds of 20Mbps on HSPA+42.

Samsung Galaxy S II T Mobile with HSPA+42
The biggest device announced is the Samsung Galaxy II which comes with T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 42 connectivity inside. The Galaxy S II includes a 1.5Ghz dual core processor. 4.52″ Super AMOLED display and includes a collection of media apps like Netflix, T-Mobile TV and Samsung Media Hub. The Galaxy S II on T-Mobile is NFC enabled, so we may see Google Wallet support in the near future.

HTC Amaze 4G with T-Mobile HSPA+42
The HTC Amaze 4G puts one of the best smartphone cameras (8MP with 10980P recording) on the market together with a 1.5GHz Dual core snapdragon processor. The Amaze 4G includes Smartshot. This technology shoots 5 pictures, and processes them into one good photo. The HTC Amaze 4G has a 4.3″ qHD display.
- SmartShot™, which captures five photos and creates the best shot using clear faces with smiles and no blinking.
- PerfectPics™, which is a separate album in the gallery created by scoring and filtering the best photos to the surface. PerfectPics prioritizes photos by using criteria such as important calendar events, the presence of faces, and overall picture quality.
- Additional innovative camera features first introduced on the T-Mobile myTouch® 4G Slide such as SweepShot™, ClearShot HDR™ and BurstShot™.

T-Mobile Sonic 4G Hotspot
In addition to the phones, T-Mobile announced the Sonic 4G mobile Hotspot. This hotspot connects up to 5 WiFi devices, like a Mifi and supports file sharing capabilities of up to 32GB of storage
These devices will all be available for purchase on October 12th at T-Mobile retail locations and online. The Galaxy S II will be $229 after a $50 mail in rebate, the HTC Amaze will be $259 after a $50 mail in rebate.
The Sonic 4G has no official price yet.
