T-Mobile and Walmart Announce No-Contract 4G Plan

Published

on

In an announcement today, T-Mobile and Walmart announced a partnership to offer a no-contract 4G data plan which will be exclusively offered in the more than 2,200 Walmart locations around the United States. It will also be available online. The plan is being advertised as an unlimited plan and it’s going to cost a mere $30 a month without the need for a contract.

As you might know, Sprint is the only carrier left that provides true unlimited data. This plan here offers up to 5GB at 4G speeds and once you hit that threshold, you’re going to be throttled down to 3G so keep that in mind before you take the plunge.

The plan also features unlimited text and 100 minutes of talk time with any minutes over that costing 10 cents.

This new plan isn’t out just yet however. Those of you that are interested are going to have to wait until October 16th for this to arrive, just in time for T-Mobile to try and use this as leverage against the costly contracts future iPhone 5 owners are going to have to sign with other carriers.
