One Galaxy S, S II Smartphone Sold Every Second
In a new milestone, Samsung has announced that it has sold 30 million Galaxy S smartphones, which includes 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones and 20 million Galaxy S variants. While attention has been focused on the new Galaxy S II devices recently, Samsung’s Galaxy S I isn’t perishing anytime soon with new variants still being created, such as the Samsung Stratosphere for Verizon, which is essentially a Galaxy S I smartphone with a landscape-oriented sliding QWERTY keyboard, and a 4G LTE radio.
According to the smartphone manufacturer, its flagship line now accounts for 1 smartphone sold every second, and the 30 million mark stacks up nicely against Google’s total of 190 million Android devices.
In addition to the flagship ‘S’ series smartphones, Samsung also has other Android devices as well.

Always important to remember … when Samsung says ‘sold’, they are referring to cases shipped to Verizon/AT&T/Best Buy / etc … NOT to phones in customers hands. We have no idea what Samsung actually sells in terms of phones … but the Galaxy Tab (10% of claimed sales were REAL) is a lesson …
