Motorola Droid RAZR Appears Headed to AT&T

Last week, Motorola and Verizon took the wraps off of their latest 4G LTE smartphone, the Motorola Droid RAZR. We came away from the event impressed with what the manufacturer and carrier cooked up and we’d have to imagine that those of you out there looking to get on Verizon are as well. But what about those of you that don’t want the phone on Verizon?

Well, in what appears to be fantastic news, a device that looks to be a GSM version of the Droid RAZR has passed through the FCC with support for GSM 800/1900 bands and WCDMA bands II and V which are bands that AT&T uses.

There’s more evidence too.

Droid RAZR for AT&T?

The Droid RAZR’s battery is dubbed ‘SNN5899A.’ Guess what battery this phone passing through the FCC has on board?

Yup, you guessed it. SNN5899A.

So, it looks like the Droid RAZR (it will likely have a different name) will be headed to AT&T’s network at some point in the future.Verizon’s device will be out at some point in November.

  1. The key difference is LTE, with LTE the Verizon device is far superior.

  2. I honestly don’t care much about all the stuff it does, I like the idea that it’s supposed to be more sturdy then the rest.

  3. I doubt att will get it. Only way att customers will get the razr is if they buy an unlocked gsm version and use it on att. But if att dooes get it, I still have 20mb+ speeds on verizon while att only gets 3-6 on their 4g.

    • Funny, I just posted on FB that if AT&T doesn’t acquire the Razr HD by the time I’m ready to upgrade, one of their more established customers is history. I’m tired of their lousy phones, except the Atrix2 which I love.
