Verizon Galaxy Nexus Costs $650 Off-Contract

Today is a pretty big day in the world of Android. Verizon has finally launched its 4G LTE flavored Samsung Galaxy Nexus and it currently is available in both retail stores and online. Many of you might be thinking about getting one and more specifically, you might be thinking about getting one off-c0ntract at full retail price. Well, as we suspected, Verizon is going to be charging a hefty $650 for the Galaxy Nexus sans contract.

We weren’t sure about the off-contract price yesterday but we can confirm that this is the case.

It shouldn’t be surprising. This is new premium that Big Red has put on its 4G LTE smartphones. The HTC Rezound and the Motorola Droid RAZR, two of Verizon’s other premier 4G LTE phones, both command $650 off-contract.

Those of you willing to sign a contract will be able to get it for $299 on-contract.
