The saga of Fusion Garage looks like it may have come to an unfortunate end. According to a report on The Verge, founder Chandra Rathakrishnan has been uncommunicative for a period of time, customers can’t get any responses from a dead website, and the US PR firm representing Fusion Garage is pulling the plug on its relationship tomorrow.
It has been a saga mixed with stumbles and bumbles. Fusion Garage had been the manufacturer of the highly touted CrunchPad dreamed up by Michael Arrington. That relationship parted ways in a very ugly manner. Fusion Garage went forward with the device, rechristinend the Joo Joo.
Some folks actually bought the Joo Joo Tablet but it quickly went the way of the dodo and most folks suspected that was the end of Fusion Garage. But after a bizarre PR stunt to announce a new Tablet, Fusion Garage tried again with the Grid 10 Tablet
Fusion Garage even offered Joo Joo owners a free Grid 10, but those users and those who ordered the Grid 10 probably won’t get any satisfaction. The Grid 10 was scheduled for shipment on October 1.
