Toshiba’s Waterproof Tablet Can Even Charge Wirelessly Underwater

Have you ever wanted to put your tablet inside of your fish tank? If you answered yes, you may have wondered about whether or not you’d be able to charge your tablet in said waters? Well, your dreams might one day become a reality if Toshiba has anything to say about it.

At CES 2012 today, we took a look at a waterproof concept tablet from Toshiba that was sitting at the bottom of a fish tank right on the showroom floor. And yes, the tablet was able to charge without any wires, even when it was submerged next to a bunch of fake fish.

Now, we realize that there aren’t many of you out there interested in putting your tablet at the bottom of a fish tank. But that’s not the point here.

The point is that you’d be able to take the tablet out into the elements without having to worry about your device dying in front of your eyes.

It’s an exciting prospect, especially the wireless charging part, and we hope that Toshiba is able to bring this to the masses sooner rather then later.
