Samsung Galaxy Nexus Hitting Sprint in April?

Published

on

Ever since Sprint announced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for its upcoming 4G LTE network at CES 2012, we’ve been wondering about when the device might arrive on shelves in the United States. Well, it seems that we may have finally gotten our answer. Sprint is going to be hosting a Sprint Data Storm Sweepstakes that will see the carrier giving away 30, yes 30, Galaxy Nexus devices. The contest runs through April 5th and we highly doubt Sprint will make the contest winners wait.

If you head on over to Sprint’s website, you’ll find a landing page where you can input your email on a daily basis, until April 5th, to win one of 30 Galaxy Nexus smartphones that the carrier will be giving away.

Those worrying about whether or not the carrier would offer unlimited data with the device should worry no more as unlimited data is plastered all over the landing page.

Also of note is the fact that Sprint is listing the device as coming with 32GB of internal storage space.

We also have confirmation of a 4.56″ HD Super AMOLED display and Near-Field Communication support for services like Google Wallet, which Sprint’s device will be able to take advantage of.

Verizon’s version of the Galaxy Nexus, as you might know, cannot.

It’ll also run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.

The rest of the specs remain a mystery.

We were able to go hands-on with the Galaxy Nexus for Sprint at CES, you can check it out in the video below, and it’s safe to assume that it will be very similar to the model on Verizon.

So, it looks like Sprint’s 4G LTE network and its first 4G LTE device could be launching next month.

Who’s excited?
