Source Confirms iPad 3 with 4G LTE

One of the biggest rumors surrounding the iPad 3 is the 4G LTE radio that will supposedly have on board when it arrives. Well, iMore, the same place that correctly reported the date of this week’s iPad event is now saying that the same source has confirmed that the new iPad will indeed have 4G LTE connectivity on board when it arrives on shelves.

4G LTE of course means that the iPad will have data speeds that can reach up to 10 times faster then those found on a normal 3G network. It also means that it will likely launch on AT&T and Verizon, both of which have 4G LTE networks in place.

Source Confirms iPad 3 with 4G LTEThis comes after numerous reports pegged the iPad 3 as having 4G LTE connectivity and it appears all but certain that Apple will launch its first 4G LTE mobile device to the market with the iPad 3.

It also bodes well for a 4G LTE version of the iPhone 5 later on this year.

Apple is expected to announce an upgraded iPad this Wednesday at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. In addition to 4G LTE, the device is rumored to employ a Retina Display – which should offer quadruple the resolution of the previous two iPads, an upgraded camera, a more powerful processor, and more.

In addition, Apple is expected to announce a new version of its Apple TV which should come equipped with 1080p.

It’s unclear if the device will be coming to Sprint, which carries Apple’s iPhone 4S, and who will have a 4G LTE network in place as soon as April.
