iPhone 4S Jailbreak: All Clear to Upgrade to iOS 5.1.1

iPhone 4S owners who want to jailbreak the iPhone 4S are able to upgrade to iOS 5.1.1 without the fear of losing the ability to jailbreak the iPhone 4S.

Previously we warned that users should avoid iOS 5.1.1 in case Apple patched any security holes hackers would use to jailbreak the iPhone 4S, but now that Pod2g has made progress on the iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak for iPhone 4S, it is ok to update.

Pod2g confirmed on twitter that it is ok to update the iPhone 4S to iOS 5.1.1 as long as you can wait for the jailbreak.

Users with an iPhone 4S jailbreak on iOS 5 would be smart to wait for the release of the iOS 5.1 & iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4S jailbreak, otherwise they will need to go a few weeks without a jailbroken iPhone.

According to Pod2g, the new untethered iPhone 4S jailbreak will work on iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.1.1.

An Untethered jailbreak means users won’t need to plug into their computer every time users turn the device on. This is the most user-friendly jailbreak.

The new iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak tool will work on most devices including the new iPad. There is no firm release date, but Pod2g says testing is underway and we can expect an iPhone 4S jailbreak for iOS 5.1 and iOS 5.1.1 in a few weeks.

Pod2g is one of the primary figures behind the release of the Absinthe jailbreak tool for iOS 5.0 on the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S.

The team is working on a new user-friendly tool that will allow users to jailbreak the iPhone 4S in a few clicks. It’s not clear if the new tool is an updated version of Absinthe or a standalone tool.

What is Jailbreaking?

Jailbreaking the iPhone 4S allows users to run apps that are not available in the Apple App Store and to tweak the way the iPhone 4S works. The video demo below shows IntelliscreenX, one of the most popular iPhone 4S jailbreak tweaks.

Not every users should jailbreak the iPhone 4S because it can cause stability issues and users may need to spend time troubleshooting the otherwise stable iPhone.

Never pay for an iPhone 4s jailbreak tool. There are a number of scams selling fake iPhone 4S jailbreaks, including easyrain, a jailbreak that claims ties to Stefan Esser (@i0n1c), a security researcher with private iOS 5.1 jailbreaks.

You guys think jailbreak developers have time to just go back and tell everyone on every website that the new 5.1.1 jailbreak is out? You’s are dumb as fuck because it clearly says at the bottom of the article (which many of you’s probably didn’t even read, so you wouldn’t know what I’m talking about) to “stay tuned for a step by step…… Once hackers release the new tool” it’s just a matter of patience. You’re not going to get a random calling from anyone on any website telling you about the new jailbreak, fuxkin kids
