There are now conflicting news on the status of the HTC import ban in the U.S. as part of the HTC-Apple patent disagreement. News of the initial import ban suggests that only the AT&T HTC One X and the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE were affected by the ban, but now there are news that other devices may also be subjected to the ban at U.S. customs.
According to blog TmoNews, it appears that T-Mobile USA’s HTC Amaze 4G is also subject to the ban. Customers who are attempting to order the HTC Amaze 4G are told that the the device is not currently available due to ‘unforeseen issue with receiving the product from the manufacturer.’ T-Mobile is currently suggesting that customers order instead the Samsung Blaze 4G smartphone rather than the HTC Amaze 4G because of that unforeseen issue.

Neither Samsung nor HTC have commented on the status of the HTC Amaze 4G at this time.
In other news, Engadget is reporting that some HTC handsets are now leaving U.S. customs en route to their carriers for deliveries. It’s unclear which handsets those would be and so hopefully the delays won’t be much longer for Sprint and AT&T customers.
Each imported HTC model must be reviewed by Customs and will be released once Customs officials have completed the inspection. Some models have gone through inspection and been released to our carriers customers. We don’t have the status of each specific device model at this time, but we are working closely with Customs. We remain confident that this issue will be resolved soon.
